This Week in Year 3
As we reach the end of a busy half term, we would like to congratulate the children on all of their hard work and achievements.
We were very proud to send off our formal thank you letters to the staff at Verulamium Museum following our school trip. The children took great care with their presentation and worked hard to produce thoughtful, well-written letters. It was lovely to see all their effort come together in the finished pieces, and we are sure the museum staff will enjoy reading them.
Maths lessons this week saw us complete our unit on column addition and subtraction. The children have shown great determination as they learnt how and why we exchange when adding and subtracting numbers. They should be very proud of the progress they have made. After half-term, we will be moving on to multiplication and division.
Despite some challenging weather conditions, the children have thrown themselves into our new basketball unit in PE. They have enjoyed developing their passing, dribbling and ball control skills, while also showing excellent teamwork and communication. When the rain arrived, they adapted brilliantly and enjoyed an energetic Just Dance session indoors instead.
In RE, we have been learning about Christianity and discussing the different ways Christians feel close to God. The children explored the role of prayer in Christian life and considered why prayer is important to many believers. They enjoyed sharing thoughtful ideas and reflections during our discussions.
It has been wonderful to see the enthusiasm, resilience and maturity the children have shown across all areas of learning this half-term. Thank you for your continued support. We hope you all have a fantastic and well-deserved break, and we look forward to welcoming the children back after half-term for another exciting term of learning.
Have a great half-term!
