Our learning this week:

English: 

This week we immersed ourselves in our new vehicle text, Rose Blanche by Christophe Gallaz and Roberto Innocenti. We then analysed a diary entry form the perspective of Rose Blanche. The children showed thoughtful engagement, carefully explored her feelings, and used the text to build a clearer understanding of character and viewpoint.

Maths:

This week in maths, we started our new topic, place value After completing a baseline test. we looked at Roman numerals and numbers up to and beyond 1000. The children approached each task with focus and growing confidence, showing strong effort as they build important number skills.

History:

In history, we completed a timeline of events that took place during WW2. We also looked at what life was like for families at home and explored the use of propaganda. We finished the topic by considering the consequences of WW2. The children worked carefully and showed thoughtful engagement throughout.

RE:

This week in RE, we considered the different genres that are included within the bible and why there are so many different genres. We then looked at different books within the bible and considered the purpose and audience. The children worked carefully, shared thoughtful ideas, and showed growing confidence in discussing how genre helps us understand meaning.

PE Lessons:

Our PE lessons continue to take place on a Tuesday afternoon and Thursday morning. This term we are focusing on football.
